The gutter collects it; the downspout has to finish the job

Downspout Repair and Installation in Conroe, TX

A gutter system is incomplete until the water has a responsible place to go. Mac plans downspouts around roof concentration and the ground below—without sending water across a porch, into a garden, onto a driveway, or back toward the foundation.

Usual residential sizing

Mac normally pairs 6-inch gutter with 3-by-4 downspouts. Smaller 2-by-3 downspouts may appear with 5-inch systems, and 4-by-5 downspouts are available for special capacity needs. Size alone does not replace the right number and placement of outlets.

Placement begins around 30 feet, then follows the roof

One downspout for roughly every 30 feet is a planning starting point. Valleys, large roof areas, long runs, and concentrated runoff may need closer placement. The route also has to respect windows, porches, walks, driveways, landscaping, and the direction of the ground slope.

Above-ground discharge options

dcGutterPRO installs elbows, extensions, concrete splash blocks, and rain-barrel routing. Mac can also connect a downspout to a ready existing adapter at the house. The goal is to carry water far enough to keep it moving away rather than pooling beside the wall.

Where dcGutterPRO's scope ends

Mac does not excavate, install underground pipe, or add pop-up emitters. Gutters also cannot correct a lot that is the neighborhood low point or ground that slopes back toward the house. Those conditions may need a drainage, grading, foundation, or landscaping specialist.

Watch the property in real rain

A homeowner can often learn more in one hard rain than from a dry inspection. Watch where roof water concentrates, whether a downspout backs up, where an extension ends, and whether the ground carries water away or returns it to the house.

Downspout questions

How far apart should downspouts be?

Mac uses roughly 30 feet as a starting point, then changes the layout for roof area, pitch, valleys, long runs, and safe discharge locations.

Can you move a downspout away from a doorway or garden?

Often, yes. Mac checks whether another location can receive the roof flow and still provide a responsible route at the ground.

Do you install underground drainage pipe?

No. dcGutterPRO handles the above-ground house-side system and may connect to an existing ready adapter. Digging, underground pipe, and pop-up emitters require another specialist.

Can a downspout connect to a rain barrel?

Yes, when the barrel and overflow plan are suitable. The setup still needs a place for excess water during a heavy storm.

Will longer extensions solve foundation water?

They can improve the endpoint when the ground carries water away. They cannot correct negative grading, an underground blockage, or a low lot that returns water toward the house.

Google review

dcGutter installed new gutters for our commercial property with about 20' high covered areas. About a month after install, I realized I needed a downspout turned the other way and Mac came out the next day to fix it for me with no problems. I would definitely recommend him and his team to anyone looking for gutters.
